What is the Photographers Giving Back?
We are the only contest in the world that give charity to the depicted people in the awarded pictures. Every year we give atleast $5.000 to one or more charitys. The first year the charity was given to a shelter for abused women in Kongo. The second year we helped the family of 7 year old Poonam in Bohpal. After seeing and hearing the story about her from awarded photographer Alex Masi we are happy to know that our charity changed her life.

PHOTOGRAPHERS GIVING BACK
Many photographers, if not all, have a wish to be part in changing the world to a better place. So do we! That’s why we have started the Photographers Giving Back program. This program will give donations to causes which reflect the spirit of the contest.
Donations to The Giving Back program will be greatly appreciated and will be given out.
FUNDING
The Photographers Giving Back Photo Award depends on contributions from sponsors and revenues from side projects. We look for partners that see a benefit in being a part of changing the world. Companys that are concerned of the brand value.
The contest would not be possible without our great partners.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Jonas Lemberg, a news photographer since 1991, started out with a wish to make a change and make the world a better place to live. Now, several years later, he has founded an organisation with a big wish to give something back; to the photographers who work hard covering events showing injustice around the world, and also to the people depicted in the photographs.
